Things I’ve been enjoying as of late include going for walks, playing tennis, watching movies, hanging out at local cafes, and working on Indopedia. If folks would like to contribute to Indopedia, please do so.
Unfortunately, I have not been enjoying the chilly weather, but more than that I am not liking the fact that I am struggling with my dissertation. I’ve talked with other students and they seem to be going through/have experienced the same thing, but it’s still frustrating. There are times when I feel like I’m just swimming in my data and getting a handle on organizing it, let alone analyzing it properly, is quite the challenge. One day at a time, though, right?
As for the cold weather, I will at least have a break when I return to the U.S. where it is summer (yay!) later this month…
I hope all is well with you!

I just found this site totally by accident. Did a “ask jeeves” search to find out how to save Happy Independence Day in indonesian and saw your link. I lived in Sumatra in the late 60’s when my dad worked for Caltex Petroleum. I had been converting a bunch of old 35mm slides for my dad onto digital and saw a parade that Duri (the camp we lived at) had for the big Aug 17th day. Was just wanting to post a picture and a happy independence day on my website.
