I took a short vacation up north to the Gold Coast at the end of June. Though the weather was chilly, the sun was shining, so it was a very nice change from the gloominess of Melbourne’s winter. I went to Sea World and Movie World, saw the long beautiful beaches that give the Gold Coast its name, ate yummy food at local restaurants, went window shopping, and relaxed, relaxed, relaxed.
Here are some photos from that trip:
Dolphin show at Sea World - amazing acrobatics!
View of the Gold Coast (city) from a large ferris wheel at Sea World:
Hanging out at one of Sea World’s aquariums:
Up close and personal with a shark at Sea World:
This is a funky chair I came across at Surfers Paradise:
Here I am at the beach. Though the water was cold, I couldn’t resist dipping my feet in the ocean.
The first ride of the day was Batman at Movie World. One’s stomach pretty much gets left at the top as one travels back down!
This is the Superman Escape ride at Movie World. I rode it three times! The last one was the best since I was in the very first seat. ![]()
